Warraq

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

This policy explains what Warraq collects when you use the website, why, and who else is involved.

1. Your account

When you register we store your username, password (encrypted), and the email address or phone number you verify. We use them to sign you in, secure your account and contact you about it.

2. Searches and scans

We store the titles you search for so we can show your history and enforce plan quotas. Cover photos you scan are sent for text recognition and are not stored by Warraq after the title is read. Book searches are sent to public libraries and catalogues (Open Library, Internet Archive, Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, Google Books) without your name or contact details.

3. Preferences and location

If you set preferred formats, a city, a country or use your location, we store those settings to tailor results and nearby marketplace listings. You can change them at any time in Preferences.

4. Marketplace and messages

Listings you publish and messages you exchange with other users are stored so the marketplace can work. Seller applications include the store details you provide.

5. Payments

Subscription payments are handled by PayPal. Warraq receives the payment status and reference, never your card details.

7. Cookies

Warraq uses a sign-in session cookie, stores your language and a few display settings on your device, and — if you choose an Amazon store — a cookie with that store choice. We do not use advertising cookies.

8. Your choices

You can update your details and preferences in the app, and ask us to delete your account by writing to us.
